************ Feel
free to contact Ryan...go to Rocket Jr.'s Fan Club page and send! ************
October 18, 2008- Greenville Pickens Speedway, Qualified 5th- finish 3rd. With the first 35 lapper this year...we wished it was a 50 laps instead! A wild spin in turns 1 and 2 brought out the first and only caution. Ryan had gotten spun along with 5 others, but was able to get back in line in 10th position. On the restart Ryan held close and was on top of 9th, 8th and 7th. He ran hard and clean and finally caught up to 4th and 5th place runners. While the top 2 took off, Ryan kept focus and made the pass for 3rd place. Ryan enjoyed the flat track and had a great night. With just turning 16, it was awesome to hear him over the radio during qualifying to tell his crew chief what he wanted to change before the feature..2 turns here...1 1/4 out there....for he was a rocketship during the race....and if it was 50 laps and maybe a caution thrown into the mix, those top 2 runners would have had their hands full!
October 4, 2008 - Orange County Speedway, Qualified 5th, finished 10th. An old chapter came back on to the scene....."Being dumped not once..but twice by the same competitor"....I believe that book was titled "If you can't pass em'...boot em'". Glenski was running upfront but had to chase the car all day, for it was not handling at all. With the photo shown above, Glenski enjoys running hard side by side putting on a show with fellow competitors, it just takes the fun out out of it when one runs out of talent:( Looking forward to the next race at Greenville Pickens, October 18, 2008. Next race is at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC this Saturday, October 4th in the
Allison Legacy Series. Ryan has moved back up to second in points. With 5 races remaining, Ryan hopes to move closer to his
200 career wins mark...he is at 191 now and would have an awesome 16th birthday if he could inch closer by the season finale!
(note...Hickory was cancelled 9/27/08 due to weather and the gas shortage, will be rescheduled)
September 20, 2008- Hickory Motor Speedway- Qualified.....7th- finished 4th. During qualifiying a mishap on Ryan's 2 laps. All competitors times came up on clock tower, except Ryan's, for he went out last and he WAS BAD FAST. All inside spectators that were timing the competitors, had Ryan on the pole with a 16.15....the pole was held by Clint King with a 16.204, put no time came up on the clock tower for Ryan....they eventually placed him 7th. With about 75 more horsepower than the Allison Legacy cars, Ryan was able to jump on and off the gas when needed for there was a spin on the first lap that caused a few cars minor damage. Ryan was able to roll much faster during long green runs and was able to move up to 3rd position. He was running down the leaders real fast. Caution's is what hurt the Tony Arnold Team...for we had problems shifting on the restarts. Ryan had stated over the radio that there was a problem keeping it in gear when taking off. Cars would pass him on the restarts, but then he would pick them back off one by one under green. At the end of the race he was catching the 3rd place car....too bad it wasn't 100 laps and all green! Special THANKS again to Tony Arnold and Tripp Massengill for keeping the faith in Ryan and giving him another opportunity to drive your "bad fast" car! You guys are awesome and we appreciate it very much.
September 13, 2008- Southern National Raceway Park, Kenly, NC- Qualified 4th-
finished 2nd. With things looking up and maybe finally shaking the monkey off our back, Glenski has moved up to 2nd
in points....where he was when the bad luck kicked in. Settling in on the start of the race and just holding pace, for
it was a 75 lapper, Glenski held close to the top three. The front three were mixing it up, changing leads among them and
giving Glenski a front row show. With over 50 laps into the race, Glenski was able to take 3rd spot away and close in on second.
The patience that Glenski displayed kept him up front and out of trouble. Making the pass to bring home a 2nd place
finish was a great ending for the RG Excavating Team. Our wishes go out to Justin Allison for a speedy recovery. Anyone
who would like to send a note to Justin, just fill out the comment card on Ryan's Fan Club page. Thank you!
August 29, 2008- Florence Motor Speedway- Qualified 3rd, finished 3rd. Great run and looking forward to Southern Nationals in Kenley.
August 16, 2008- Dillon Motor Speedway, Qualified 3rd - Finished 6th.
Great run for 46 straight laps with no cautions...until a spin on the back stretch that brought out the first of 3 cautions
in the remaining 4 laps. Ryan held a comfortable 3rd place spot until the restart....going into turn one, a strong competitor
stuck his nose under Ryan at the last second and Ryan moved up while in the corner to give room and off set the weight of
his car and drove up too high in middle of the corner and lost her:( ...again on a mission, picture the Tazmanian
Devil behind the wheel...upset for losing a good finish...came back through the pack 3 wide for two laps to bring home another
6th place finish!
August 9, 2008- South Boston Speedway, VA. Qualified 4th-
Finished 6th. Special thanks to Donnie Allison and his son's, Ronald and Donald for helping to set up the car after
being repaired from a bad wreck at Tri-County Speedway on August 1st. With several legs and feet sticking out from underneath
the car, they measured and squared all that was needed to make sure it was straight and ready to go through the corner like a
rocket at South Boston. And a rocket he was! Ryan qualified 4th, placing him on the outside of the second row. With so
much competition, it took a while to get to the bottom and start to move up in the field. Ryan ran a strong race, but was
spun out in turn one by a fellow competitor. Needless to say he was on a mission after being spun and came back up through
the field to finish 6th. A good night considering the only thing the team had to to do to the car was to remove the tire mark
on the left hand side!
August 2, 2008- Hickory Motor Speedway, Qualified 11th- Finished 2nd.
With Ryan's #28 RG Excavating machine in pieces from a wreck at Tri-County the night before, his good friend, Cody Smith
and father, David Smith offered Ryan their backup car. Ryan jumped in Cody's car and pushed her a little too hard and
ended up qualifying 11th. Running a patient and heads-up race, Ryan was able to stay out of trouble and constantly move up
one position after another. Thank you Corey Lajoie for spotting and bringing home Ryan with a second place finish. And
a huge THANK YOU to the Smith's for allowing Ryan to race her!
August 1, 2008 Tri-County Motor Speedway- Started 17th- Finished 11th. Ryan
had the hardest wreck to date. He blew a left rear tire in turn two and spun in front of the pack. Was drilled wide open
by another competitor in the driverside door. Three other cars sat in turn two with heavy damage. Ryan walked away with
just a sore leg....and the biggest appreciation for a seat designed by Randy Lajoie, the owner of The Joie of Seating. If
it was not for the seat and leg braces in the #28, it might of been a different outcome. Thank you Team Joie!
Allison Legacy North Article for Adirondack International Speedway, July 26,2008
July 26, 2008 - Adirondack International Speedway Lowville, NY. Qualified on the pole, DNF. With all eyes being on the Southerner's to show, the Northern boys had plenty of reason to worry. Glenski and another Allison Legacy regular from the south, Tayla Orleans, had the fastest cars in qualifying on Friday. With Glenski placing his #28 Luther's Excavating sponsored machine on the pole and Orleans pushing her #93 car to the limit during qualifying, only to snag the wall right under the flag stand. Orleans had to start in the 11th position. Outside pole position was Paul Tuthill and starting in third was Victor Johnson. On race day the clouds rolled in and shortened the race from 50 to 40 laps. Glenski showed the way for 28 laps. While being pressured by Johnson, Glenski held his line and Orleans was on a mission...she had made her way up to 3rd. Glenski hauling through turn 1 was spun by Johnson and managed to do a complete 360 and keep 3rd spot, while Orleans took over the front spot. On the restart, Glenski dove down deep to make it 3 wide all the way to the backstretch and came out second, but in turns 3 and 4 Glenski was under Johnson making the pass for the lead...and again right on Glenski breaking the j-bar and tearing the valve stem out on his right rear. Glenski done for the night...Johnson...penalized. There's a big difference in racing hard and racing dirty, and anyone watching a race can tell the difference. We would like to thank the Adirondack International Speedway, Billy Gibson and Michael Vasquez of Allison Legacy North for hosting a great North/South Shootout Race. Also special thanks to V-Twin Performance, Interstate Batteries and Hudson Valley Power Equipment for your sponsorship. With Glenski walking away with the $100 pole award...every-bit helps! As for Luther's Excavating Company, we couldn't of done this without you. Thank you Shawn, Butch, Porge and the twins, Jason & Jacob! Congratulations to Tayla Orleans for taking the win!
July 19, 2008 - Southern National Raceway Park, Qualified 6th, finished 6th. Finally...no repairs this week! Had a good car and stayed out of trouble. Press Release: July 15, 2008 Ryan Glenski of Mooresville, North Carolina, will be making the long voyage to Upstate New York...an area where his dad, Randy used to race. The Allison Legacy North Racing Series will be hosting a North/South Shootout Race on July 25 & 26 at Adirondack International Speedway located in Lowville, New York. The Allison Legacy cars will run a 50 lap feature with a prize of $2150. Randy ran at most DIRT tracks in the area like Fonda, Syracuse, Fulton, Utica- Rome, Lebanon Valley and Middletown, all in the upstate NY area, which holds lots of "Rocket" fans....so it will fun to watch little "Rocket Jr." set the pace for the southern boys! Ryan is looking forward to adding another win to his already 191 career wins total. Luckily the South series has off next weekend, but as for this weekend they will be competiting in Kenly, NC at Southern National Raceway Park. While Ryan has had bad luck the last 3 outings with the Allison Legacy cars, he still is flying high from a great victory at Bristol Motor Speedway on July 5 in a Pro-Challenge car that is owned by former NASCAR Busch Series Champion, Randy Lajoie. The 7th Annual NASCAR Camping World East Series will be running their "Edge Hotel 150" on Saturday, July 26th. All info can be found at www.allisonlegacynorth.com and www.adirondackspeedway.com Check Ryan and Randy out at www.ryanglenski.com July 11, 2008 - Florence Motor Speedway, Qualified
11th, finished 14th. Another disappointing finish. Ryan had a great run going at Florence...but with Florence being Florence,
meaning track conditions are very slick, all but 4 competitors went home with some type of damage. And speaking of damage,
Ryan had moved up to 5th spot when coming out of turn 2, he had to go high to miss a car and hit oil and flew off the backstretch
and went down the hill only to find that the #36 car of Beckner was sitting there. Slamming into the stopped #36, which
no one could see except for the woodchucks, shows true testament to the safety of these well built Allison Legacy cars and seats
made by The Joie of Seating. Ryan was able to walk away but the car was damaged big time...3 outings.....3 wrecks...luck has
to change soon!
July 5, 2008 Bristol Motor Speedway/Pro-Challenge Series Race Recap, Press Release by Karin LaBonte Bristol Motor Speedway introduces it’s high banks and the thrill of Thunder Valley to deliver Ryan Glenski’s 191st career win. Fifteen year old Ryan Glenski of Mooresville, NC, sat behind the wheel of a Pro-Challenge car for only the second time….and again, comes home with another victory. 2 for 2. This victory pushed Glenski to 191 wins and could not have done it without a gracious offer from the Lajoie family. Randy Lojoie, a former NASCAR Busch Series Champion, offered Glenski his son’s Pro-Challenge car to run at Bristol. Corey Lajoie has moved up to the UARA Late Model Division and was on hand to help Glenski out during the race. With out any previous time in the Lajoie #711 car, Glenski was able to place the car on the outside pole. After the green dropped Glenski found himself in all of the “ahh” of being able to race at BMS and knew he couldn’t screw up…especially mess up a gift of racing a car that someone else owned. How many people today just hand out a free ride just for the asking? I guess it would be the simple fact of having faith…faith in someone else’s kids says a lot. It takes an amazing family to give that gift. At the very start it was the #28 truck of Terry Horak showing the way with Glenski following. It was probably the best way for Glenski to settle in and get used to the track. While Horak took off and held a comfortable lead, the #40 of J.L. Snowden was coming. While the next caution placed Glenski on the inside of the second row behind Horak, the place where he wanted to be, it was when the green came out, the #40 car and #118 Devon Haun, were on the outside battling and Horak and Glenski took off and never looked back. Glenski was able to stay with Horak this time, only to find out Horak cut a tire and slid up the track with only 3 laps to go. “This is pretty big for me” Glenski said. “I didn’t think I had anything for him (Horak) as he got away from me in five laps. I knew something was wrong when I was able to get to his bumper in two laps. I got the lead and then got away.” Glenski also runs the Allison Legacy Series full time and has a victory at South Boston, VA. with his #28 machine. His next Allison Legacy race will be at Florence Motor Speedway. Last season he won the “Rookie of the Year” honors and was voted “Hard Charger of the Year”. With Glenski turning 16 this fall, he is searching for the next car he will be taking to victory circle. Bristol Motor Speedway News Release, July 5, 2008 July 5, 2008- Bristol, TN- WOW!
What Fireworks!!! Ryan drove the Randy Lajoie owned Pro-Challenge car at Bristol Motor Speedway last night and won his 191st career win. It was an awesome run. Ryan set 2nd fastest time and ran the race of his life and brought home another win...2 for 2! This race being only his second time in this series and his first time in the #711 Corey Lajoie's car, that now is vacant and maybe waiting on little brother, Casey! Special thanks to Lisa, Randy and Corey for giving us this amazing opportunity to run a great car in a great race at a great track, Bristol. And thank you so much Corey for being there on the radio!!!!
July 5, 2008 Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol, TN-
Ryan will be running the Pro-Challenge once again. This time it will be Corey Lajoie's Pro-Challenge
car. Randy Lajoie would like to sell this hot machine...for it won the last time out. This car will be driven this weekend
at Thunder Valley by Ryan...his first time there. While Ryan does not get a chance to practice this car at Bristol...Corey
will try and teach him everything he needs to know! Good Luck Corey in your UARA-Stars race!
June 28, 2008 Orange County Speedway- Qualified
6th - Finish 19th. Wrecked again by another fellow competitor. Congratulations to Dylan Presnell for his first
and fabulous Victory!
June 21, 2008- Myrtle Beach, SC.
Qualified 10th Finished 24th. Ryan was loose in qualifying but the right set-up after all, for the cars were impounded
after qualifying and Ryan was on a mission during the first 20 laps. Ryan was passing on the inside and outside to move up
to 5th place before being spun out by a fellow competitor. Ryan was being patient and saving his car for he had
another 30 laps before the checkered flag, which he was well on his way to the front. Great run by Justin Allison who came
from the rear to bring home a third place finish after spinning while taken the lead earlier in the race.
6/7/08 Ryan wins his 190th Career
Win at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC. Ryan was offered a ride to race in the Rookie Race held
at OCS in a Pro-Challenge car. Car owner Tony Arnold is trying to sell his car, for his driver Tripp Massengill has moved
up to Late Models and leaves a vacant seat in a real "bad fast" Pro-Challenge car as Ryan puts it!!!!
Check out the Pro-Challenge web site...great article by Jason Buckley/SPEED51 and one heck of a run by Rookie, Meghan Dillner to come from the back to finish second! Great Job Meghan! http://www.prochallenge.net/2008_releases/north_rookie_challenge_OCS_6_9.html
A very hot day and night at Orange County Speedway...put
was well worth all the efforts! Special thanks to Jim Board, Tony Arnold, Tripp Massengill for showing the lines and
having faith in Ryan! Thanks to the Forbes for helping out and to all the competitors for being so helpful. Ryan had
a great time racing this Pro-Challenge car...so if anyone who is interested in a great car...this one is for sale. Please
call Tony Arnold at 919-730-8643.
Next race at Myrtle Beach Speedway,
June 21 with the Hooter's Pro Cup Series. 5/23/08 Tri-County Speedway
Qualified 9th- Finished 8th. Ran a good hard race. For most of the
race, fellow competitor Cody Smith and Ryan ran side by side. With Cody on the high side and Ryan down low...Cody had the momentum up high to keep his position...but
that didn't stop Ryan from racing side by side, lap after lap and having a blast racing with a friend! Great run!
5/17/08 OCR Qualified 6th -
Finished 11th. After spinning in turn 3 from going low to pass a lap car, we came back through the field up to 11th
without a nose and fenders. Sorry to the 44 and 84 for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wire re-attached from brain
to foot!
